The GMC Denali Pro Road Bike (56cm Frame) is a fairly new bike from Denali that is considered by many to be the little brother of the immensely popular Denali LTD. The Denali pro is a great bike for anyone looking for a full featured road bike at a pretty reasonable price. This would be perfect for someone just getting into biking or someone who hasn’t been on a bike in years, but wants to start riding again. Don’t make the mistake many new riders make and buy the cheapest bike you can find, something like the Denali pro strikes a really good balance between features and value.

The GMC Denali Pro Road Bike features a rugged and high quality 22 inch fully aluminum frame. The frame provides for a good riding position that solid and very ride-able. The frame also features a steel fork which allows the bike to be used in cyclocross. The Denali pro is equipped with a 16 speed microsift drivetrain. The stock setup is good since the hand shifters are modeled after higher end bikes. However the microshift drivetrain might be worth modifying and tweaking if you’re looking to takes things to a more competitive level. Lastly the bike features a duel pivot breaking system that works really well and provides a good sense of stopping power.

The Reviews

On the whole, the GMC Denali Pro Road Bike is a tremendous value, especially if you can catch it on sale. Feedback from fellow riders both novice and professional has been really good. Most pros feel the bike is great but not ideal as a primary road bike for a serious cyclist. However It does make a great secondary bike which is great for training since its fairly light weight and you don’t have to worry so much if it gets stolen since it’s not overly expensive.

Now as I said earlier if you’re not professional this is a fantastic bike that’s great to learn and grow with.  This bike will prepare you well for a higher end bike if you ever decide you want to kick things up a notch. Lastly, while most think this bike is all that and a bag of chips (for the price) there are some things to take note of. First you need to have some level of bike ”know how” to get all the gears and what not tuned and tweaked properly when you first assemble things. If you aren’t that handy you could always take it to your local bike shop or spend some time reading online or watching a few you tube videos. Finally the stock saddle that comes with the bike aint all that, and to be honest  it’ll probably be a pain in the rear on extended rides, so you may need to upgrade that aspect of the bike pretty early on.
